We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.
Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:
Only the email address and the name are required. The Services work without the optional details, and you can add, change, or remove them at any time in your account settings.
Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive information.
Content You Create. The Services let you record dishes, components, ingredients, meal plans, templates, and shopping lists. This is catalog information about food — it describes recipes and products, not you. It is stored against a randomly generated account identifier rather than against your name or email address.
Payment Data. If you buy a subscription, the purchase is processed by the app store you bought it from (an "App Distributor"). We never receive or store your card number, security code, or other payment details. We do collect and store a transaction identifier, the product purchased, and your subscription status, so that we can give you the features your plan includes and keep your subscription status current. Payment data is handled and stored by the App Distributor and RevenueCat. You may find their privacy notice link(s) here: www.apple.com/legal/privacy/en-ww, policies.google.com/privacy, and www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
The App Distributor processes the payment and reports it to RevenueCat, which may store some personal data for payment purposes. Revenue Cat is a platform to manage payment. RevenueCat is a subscription and in-app purchase management platform that helps developers handle billing, customer data, and paywalls across iOS, Android, and the web.
Application Data. If you use our application(s), we also may collect the following information if you choose to provide us with access or permission:
This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our application(s), for troubleshooting.
All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.
We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:
In Short: We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason (i.e., legal basis) to do so under applicable law, like with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services to enter into or fulfill our contractual obligations, to protect your rights, or to fulfill our legitimate business interests.
If you are located in the EU or UK, this section applies to you.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on in order to process your personal information. As such, we may rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information:
If you are located in Canada, this section applies to you.
We may process your information if you have given us specific permission (i.e., express consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose, or in situations where your permission can be inferred (i.e., implied consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time.
In some exceptional cases, we may be legally permitted under applicable law to process your information without your consent, including, for example:
Vendors, Consultants, and Other Third-Party Service Providers. We may share your data with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents ( “third parties”) who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. We have contracts in place with our third parties, which are designed to help safeguard your personal information. This means that they cannot do anything with your personal information unless we have instructed them to do it. They will also not share your personal information with any organization apart from us. They also commit to protect the data they hold on our behalf and to retain it for the period we instruct.
The categories of third parties we may share personal information with are as follows:
RevenueCat. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. When you sign in, we send RevenueCat the randomly generated identifier for your account so that your subscription follows it. RevenueCat also receives your purchase history from the App Distributor. It does not receive your email address or your payment details. We may share your name with RevenueCat so that our internal subscription dashboards show which account a subscription belongs to; where we have done so, that name is deleted when you delete your account or ask us to delete your personal information.
We also may need to share your personal information in the following situations:
Our servers are located in the United States. If you are accessing our Services from outside the United States, your information is transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, both by us and by the service providers described in "WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?" above.
Two providers process personal information on our behalf: Hostinger, which hosts our servers and databases, and RevenueCat, which manages subscriptions.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the United States may not have data protection laws as comprehensive as those in your country. We rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum for transfers from the United Kingdom. Both providers incorporate these into the data processing agreements under which they act for us.
If you are located in Colombia, your personal information is transferred to and stored in the United States.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
When you delete your account. We erase the information that identifies you — your email address and name, together with any username, phone number, or date of birth you chose to give us — along with your credentials and the records of any emails we have sent you. This happens immediately and cannot be undone.
The food catalog content described in section 1 — dishes, components, and ingredients — is kept after deletion so that we can build general food and recipe catalogs. It is retained without your name, email address, or any other detail that identifies you, and is no longer associated with you.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
We do not restrict access to the Services by age. We collect the same limited information from every account, whatever the age of the person using it: an email address, a name, any of the optional details described in section 1 that the account holder chooses to give us, and the food catalog content described in section 1. We do not market to children, we do not use personal information to profile or target any user of any age, and we do not sell personal information.
If you are a minor in the jurisdiction in which you reside, your parent or legal guardian must read and agree to this Privacy Notice and to our Legal Terms on your behalf, and must consent to our processing of your personal information, before you use the Services. By allowing a minor to use the Services, that parent or legal guardian confirms that they have given that consent and accepts responsibility for the minor’s use of the Services.
If you are a parent or legal guardian and you want to review, correct, or delete the personal information held in your child’s account, or to withdraw your consent and close the account, contact us at support@mymealapp.co and we will act on your request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
In some regions (like the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada ), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; (iv) if applicable, to data portability; and (v) not to be subject to automated decision-making. If a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects is made solely by automated means, we will inform you, explain the main factors, and offer a simple way to request human review. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information. You can make such a request by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section “ HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE? “ below.
We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
If you are located in the UK and are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, you can make a complaint directly to us. This is in addition to the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
How to contact us:
What happens after you complain
If you are not happy with our final response, you can refer your complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority.
If you are located in the EEA or UK and you believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to your Member State data protection authority or UK data protection authority.
If you are located in Switzerland, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, which may be express and/or implied consent depending on the applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section “ HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE? “ below.
However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can:
Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms and/or comply with applicable legal requirements.
If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at support@mymealapp.co.
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ( “DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.
California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.
The table below shows the categories of personal information we have collected in the past twelve (12) months. The table includes illustrative examples of each category and does not reflect the personal information we collect from you. For a comprehensive inventory of all personal information we process, please refer to the section “ WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT? “
We collect identifiers because an account needs an email address and a name, and a username, phone number, or date of birth where you choose to give one. The same email address, name, and phone number are what make category B apply. We collect commercial information in the form of the transaction, product, and subscription identifiers described in "WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?" above. We do not collect financial account or payment card details, biometric data, geolocation data, or browsing history.

We may in future share your name with RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, so that our internal subscription dashboards show which account a subscription belongs to. That is a disclosure for a business purpose, not a sale, and the name is deleted when you delete your account or ask us to delete your personal information. We will update this notice before we begin.
